Mara and Cruz each had so much trauma in their past and were determined to put it behind them and move forward while at college. Mara broke my heart and yet, she was so strong and determined. I loved her character so much. And Cruz? That man was all steal and strength, but he was also caring, protective and oh so possessive. His mom and sister were his world, even as he was fighting for his future.
When they first met, it was supposed only be about hooking up. Nothing more, nothing less. And it worked for a while. Then things got messy. Secrets and pasts only stay hidden for so long. Now lines are being crossed and feelings are sneaking in. I loved their connection and chemistry, even if they initially tried to deny it. I loved these two together and as individuals. I loved the secondary characters and how they stuck close. Their journey was not easy, but I loved how the characters persevered and that ending was perfect.
