When I first read The Fourth Time Charm by Maya Hughes, I loved it. So when I had the chance to listen to the audiobook, I jumped at the opportunity. Narrated by Jason Clarke and Emma Wilder, they truly brought LJ and Marissa’s story to life. They were perfect! I was so excited to get started and could not stop listening. This is a friends to lovers romance with so many feels and I loved it.
LJ and Marissa have been friends for a long time and have always been there for each other but is there more between them? I loved LJ. He could not love Marissa any more than he does. He always put her first and was protective and caring. Marissa was sweet and caring, but also had many insecurities based on her life history. We have been following their friendship since the first book and now we get their story and so much more.
Though each book can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend each book in the series. They are so worth reading and/or listening! The Fourth Time Charm by Maya Hughes was sweet, charming and emotional. These two characters really cared for each other but wanted more for the other. I loved watching them come together and share what they wanted and feel. I highly recommend reading and/or listening to this story and series.
