Rule number 1 for the team owner’s daughter? Don’t date the players.
Especially not hotheaded tight ends with tattoos and impulse control problems.
That’s why Dominic Walker is completely off my radar. Sort of.
Babysitting the team troublemaker when he’s forced to volunteer for the foundation where I work means I can’t exactly avoid him.
I wish I had though. Because once I get to know Dominic, it’s almost impossible to ignore the feelings he brings out in me.
Pretty soon, I’m breaking all my rules. I just have to hope he doesn’t break my heart in the process.
I absolutely loved The Lie by Karla Sorensen! This is another spin-off from the Washington Wolves series, the first being the Ward Sisters, however, this can be read as a standalone. This is Faith’s story, who is Luke’s daughter from The Bombshell Effect, and Dominic Walker. He is the new player for the Wolves with a huge chip on his shoulder and a whole lot of attitude. He is excited to play for this team, but a reckless decision on his first day sets him on a path he does not see coming. When he met Faith he unleashed all his attitude on her. Now Faith needs to babysit him while he is tasked to “volunteer” at the family foundation.
I would classify this book as a sunshine/grumpy romance with so many feels. Dominic’s journey to the present has not been an easy one. He is always on the defense and trying to prove himself. Faith is sweet, caring, and likable. Suddenly Dominic wants more from Faith, but can she trust him or will he break her heart? I devoured this book and just loved getting more on the next generation from these characters. A must-read for sure!
