Alice has been working hard to build her business after leaving her father’s company. He had no faith in Alice, as a woman, could run a company and she was determined to prove him wrong. Now she is ready to take on a profitable deal and needs her loyal employee, Carlos to help her. But is she ready for how much things will change?
I loved Alice in this story. In the previous book, we could see she was a strong, determined and ambitious, but this time around we also get to see some of her vulnerability as well. And I loved seeing all that professionalism start to crack!
When Alice left her father’s company, she left an open invitation to anyone that wanted to follow. Carlos Vega was the only one that did. Now he is her right-hand person. He is younger than Alice, but together they have built this company. She trusts him. But for Carlos, Alice is so much more than his boss. But the lines have always been drawn, until now.
When a business trip arises, Carlos is just the person to accompany Alice. Carlos was so good for and with Alice. He was patient and caring when needed, a shoulder to lean and depend on, but also just the right amount of alpha when things got intimate. He was just the right balance for Alice and they were so good together.
As Carlos and Alice begin to spend time together and the lines start to blur, they face very real obstacles. Age difference, professional relationship and very different backgrounds. It was interesting to see them navigate through these obstacles together.
I really enjoyed reading The Director and Don Juan. It was a sweet, slow burn story with a touch of humor. This is a perfect summer read!
