The son of a con-artist, Sean O'Brien learned the hard way that living by your own rules comes with a price. After a brief time behind bars, Sean is now ready to live an honest life, and pay for his past mistakes, and he's fortunate enough that a member of The Reliance Group sees Sean's potential for good and gives him a job at the Onyx Casino.

Zoe Russo has met all types of men on the Vegas strip. But when Sean pays a visit to her boutique, she's certain her luck has changed for the better. They share an immediate, irresistible attraction, and for the first time in her life she's found a man she thinks she can trust. But when Zoe stumbles onto the truth about Sean and his reasons for pursuing her, she can't help but question everything they'd shared. Are his feelings for her real, or has she been a fool once again? Until now, nothing has prepared her for the thrill and risk of taking a chance on love.

Originally published as NIGHT AFTER NIGHT by Janelle Denison, October 2011

Take a Chance is the 2nd book in the Vegas Heat Series and is the story of two sets of couples, Sean and Zoe, and Zoe’s best friend Jessica and a man from her past, Noah.

Sean O’Brien and Zoe Russo’s lives are tangled together in the most intriguing way. While trying to work together to solve the mystery of what Zoe’s dad is really up to, the two of them form a relationship that neither were prepared for. Will Sean and Zoe be able to fully trust one another with all of the secrets between them? What happens when what they thought was going on is not exactly as it seems?

In Take a Chance, we also get another love story. Jessica Morgan has been reunited with her first and last love, Noah Young. Noah wants answers to what went so wrong between the two of them but Jessica wants to leave it all in the past. When the two of them realize their love for each other has never died, will Jessica be able to finally be honest with Noah?

Both stories were different types of love stories yet they were interweaved perfectly. There were so many secrets and issues in both of the couple’s pasts that makes a promising future, for all of them, so hard to believe in. Second chances do exist and this book proves it. This was a book based on love, trust and forgiveness. I enjoyed every minute of it.

About Erika Wilde

Erika Wilde (aka Janelle Denison) is the USA Today bestselling author of over 50 contemporary romances for multiple print publishers.

So, why the new pen name?

As Janelle Denison I’ve always written sexy books, but lately my writing has taken on more erotic elements that I wanted to keep separate for readers because not everyone likes their reading material on the spicier, kinkier side of romance. However, please be assured that even as Erika Wilde, you will still get an emotionally layered story with characters you’ll care about and fall in love with. That is always my goal, whether I’m writing straight contemporary romances, or more erotically charged stories.

Currently, I’m working on The Marriage Diaries and making sure that Dean and Jillian enjoy exploring the more erotic side to their marriage. The series will be on-going, with no foreseeable ending as of right now, for as long as readers want to be voyeurs to Dean and Jillian’s sizzling new relationship.

I’m also planning a spin-off series in the future, featuring the hot military men that work security for Dean at Noble and Associates. Sign up to receive my newsletter for updates and news!
