I must start this review by saying, my heart. My poor heart. I was shattered by the time I finished Last Chance by Lauren Runow. This was such an emotional read, but one you must go in blind and experience.
Mackenzie has had feelings for her best friend’s older brother for a long time. When she decides she needs to just live and take chances, she decides to go after what she wants. What she wants is Connor!
Connor on the other hand, is not interested in relationships. He has been burned before, and he never wants to experience that again. But when things change with Mackenzie, is he ready to let love in?
This was a beautifully touching story of love, loss and hope. Mackenzie and Conner have a whirlwind journey that includes love and heartbreak. The author did an amazing job in summing up this story when she says this “is a story of love and heartache proving that life is not always fair, but it’s worth the pain to get the moments you’ll treasure forever.” Life is a journey you cannot control, but only experience.
