The first sexy, captivating, stand-alone novel in the brand-new FIGHT FOR ME series from NYT & USA Today Bestselling Author A.L. Jackson.

Rex Gunner. As bitter as he is beautiful.

The owner of the largest construction company in Gingham Lakes has been burned one too many times. His wife leaving him to raise their daughter was the last blow this single dad could take. The only woman he’ll let into his heart is his little girl.

Rynna Dayne. As vulnerable as she is tempting.

She ran from Gingham Lakes when she was seventeen. She swore to herself she would never return. Then her grandmother passed away and left her the deed to the diner that she once loved.

When Rex meets his new neighbor, he knows he’s in trouble.

She’s gorgeous and sweet and everything he can’t trust.

Until she becomes the one thing he can’t resist.

One kiss sends them tumbling toward ecstasy.

But in a town this size, pasts are bound to collide. Caught in a web of lies, betrayal, and disloyalty, Rex must make a choice.

Will he hide behind his walls or will he take the chance . . .

Show Me the Way by A.L. Jackson is the first in her new Fight for Me series. It is a standalone second chance at love romance that is emotional, a bit angsty and heartwarming.

Rex Gunner is handsome, strong, determined and a wonderful father, but also a bitter man. The successful business owner is raising his daughter alone after his wife walked away from them. He put a wall around his heart and swore to himself the only woman who will own his heart is his little girl. Rex carried so much guilt and loss, it was easy to see why he kept love at bay. He was a good man brought down by all he has lost.

Rynna Dayne ran away from the only home she ever knew after being heartbroken and humiliated. She was done and ready to start a new life. Unfortunately, that meant leaving everything she had ever known, including the grandmother that raised her. But it needed to be done. Leaving allowed her to become a stronger and more determined woman, but she lost so much time with her grandmother. I loved Rynna. She was a strong woman now, but also vulnerable when she remembered all she endured.

When Rynna’s grandmother passed away, she returns home to stay. She is weary, but excited. The last thing she expected was to be drawn to the man and little girl who live across the street. But something about them pulls at her. Rex wants to stay as far away from Rynna as he can, but there is something about her that pulls him to her. Can he open his heart again?

Rynna and Rex have a slow burn romance, as they both struggle with their pasts and future. Rynna sees the vulnerability behind Rex’s rough exterior and wants to help him. All Rex wants is for Rynna to stay away. As they slowly get to know each other and spend time together, their walls begin to crumble, but when the past comes back to haunt, will it be the end of them?

I loved Show Me the Way. It was a very heartfelt read that will tug at your heart. Rex and Rynna are both a bit broken and lost, but both very likable. And Rex’s daughter was sweet and charming! She often stole the show. I am looking forward to reading more of this series!
