It had to be a joke.

Any minute now, a van would drive up and Ashton Kutcher would slide the door open, laughing hysterically at my melodramatic performance on the front porch.

But nothing happened.

The words on the page jumbled into a toxic mess my brain refused to comprehend, much less accept.

Please consider this letter as a formal request to arrange a paternity test (DNA).

I barely remembered Chelsea Airy.

That wasn’t true—we’d gone out once, and we’d been friends for a while after. But I hadn’t heard so much as a peep from her since I’d gotten married. I’d reached out a handful of times, but she’d quit responding and fell off the face of the earth. There hadn’t been a text, an email, a phone call, not even a Facebook message, much less a stork in the last five years.

My wife could forgive a lot, but she’d never wanted children—much less another woman’s.

The audiobook version of Unexpected Arrivals by Stephie Walls was an emotional roller coaster that took place over an extended period of time. I was captivated with this story as it gave us the journey of one couple through ups and down and one major surprise.

We meet James when he receives notice of a paternity test from a woman in his past. The only problem, he if happily married to the woman he has always loved. You see Cora and James met when they were in high school and were instantly inseparable.  James always knew she was the one, but when Cora wants to follow her dreams, they go their separate ways. Gone, but never forgotten.

James moves on and has a life. What else can he do? But Cora and James were always meant to be. But it is not as simple as that. Unexpected Arrivals is a story of true love and second chances full of surprises and twists and turns. I was captivated by this journey.

One of my favorite things about this audiobook is we get multiple points of view and the narrators, Zach Roe, Jean-Paul Mordrake, Victoria McCloven an Holly Warren did an amazing job bringing this story to life. Be prepared for an emotional journey that will keep you enthralled from start to end.

About Stephie Walls

Bestselling author, Stephie Walls is a lover of words—the more poetic the better. She lives on the outskirts of Greenville, South Carolina in her own veritable zoo with two dogs, three cats, the Mister, and Magoo (in no preferential order). She would thrive on coffee, books, and Charlie Hunnam if it were possible, but since it’s not, add in some Chinese food or sushi and she’s one happy girl.
