"I love you," he said.

"Forever," he said.

Turns out, he lied.

When he leaves me high and dry after a cross-country move, I push him out of my life as much as I can, which is hard to do when the guy who broke your heart also happens to be the most famous dude in town.

After a disastrous year, he's aiming to rehab his reputation, and I just so happen to be aiming for a promotion at the paper.

So, we strike a deal, and it's a win-win all around. Besides, what's the harm in a few dates to charity galas anyway?

He's arrogant, a total jerk. There's no way I'll fall for him...again.

I used to love him. Now I hate him...I think.

Liz's Audio Review

I recently had the opportunity to listen to the audiobook, Text Me Baby One More Time by Teagan Hunter, the fourth book in the Texting series, but can be read/listened to as a standalone. This was the first book I read/listened too in the series and I was able to enjoy it as such, but I am excited to go back and read the rest of the series now.

When the story starts, we meet Shep and Denver after they have met and endured so much together and separately. Shep is at a crossroads in his life. He realizes, rather late, what his mistakes have been and wants to be a better man. Denver is done with Shep. He left her shattered and destroyed and will never let him in again, right? Shep was not always a good guy, but throughout this story we see him grow and begin to see what his actions have caused. Denver was caring, smart and beautiful.

As we see Shep and Denver maneuver through the present, we learn about their past, how they met (I loved it) and how they went from friends to more and then to nothing. I loved seeing how Shep took pieces of their history and interweaved it into his life before having Denver back in it. Alex Kydd and Emma Wilder did an amazing job brining Shep and Denver’s story to life. This second chance romance was emotional and sweet.
