An intoxicatingly risque stand-alone book.

She's an author.
She's a mother.
She's a wife.
She's a liar, a woman marked and bound by her own deceit.

This is the astounding tale of how one woman battled through a year of scandals and betrayals, how her world fell from its axis with a single choice, and how she lost herself between reality and fantasy.
This is a story tangled in lust, heartbreak, and contrition.

I originally listened to this book on audible prior to reading it. I am so glad I did. The narration was spot on and Elena Wolfe really brought Tori and this story to life for me. I felt her desperation, her obsession, her fears, wants and desires. One of the best audiobooks I have ever listened too.

This book was a train wreck I could not put down. I had to keep listening. I had to find out what would happen next. I could literally not stop from listening! When I was done, I was shattered and drained.

I know there are a lot of mixed feelings about this book. The response to it is all over the place. And honestly, that shows what an amazing writer E.K. Blair is.

Before going into the book, I will add my two cents on the subject matter. Yes, of course Tori was wrong. Wrong on so many levels, but we are all human and sometimes we make mistakes. Were hers monumental? Yes, yes they were, but that is something she will have to live with. Something her family will have to live with.

Back to the book. The writing was superb, but could we expect any less from E.K. Blair? I have been a long-time fan of her books and this one did not disappoint. It had drama, angst, heartbreak and so much more.

We meet anonymous, Tori, a writer who has found success, has been married for 13 years and has two kids. For all intent and purposes, she is happy and has everything she wants. But does she really? Marriage takes work, on both sides. Both spouses need to be committed to the success of their marriage. What happens when one starts looking outside that marriage?

Landon is Tori’s husband. Is he a bit complacent, yes, he probably is, but he also loves his wife and kids. He seems outwardly happy.

Sometimes though, a happily married couple can lose their way. What matters are the choices you make to make that marriage stay strong and healthy.

One day, while talking to other authors, Tori discovers a site that may help her with her writing, but what she finds is a man she did not expect. Enter Alec. A man she who entered her life in a whirlwind and captivated all of her.

What do you do when what you want is another man, not your husband? What happens when you start making choices that change everything? Follow Tori’s journey as not only her life, but those around her are affected and starts falling apart.

Yes, I agree the subject matter is not easy to read, but putting that aside, E.K. Blair gave us a story that is captivating, even as it tears you apart. Definitely worth the read/listen on that alone. I definitely recommend this book
